Under-eye Filler
What is Under-Eye Filler?
One of the most prominent parts of our
face is around the eyes. Under-eye grooves and dark shadows are problems that make people
look tired and old. Although the grooves here are structural, as age progresses, they become
more prominent with the loss of bone tissue support. There may be more than one reason for
dark circles under the eyes. Since this area is hollow, it remains in shadow and looks
darker. Since the skin in this area is very thin, especially in fair-skinned people,
subcutaneous veins are easily visible and appear as purple shadows. Some people, especially
those with darker skin tones, may develop dark circles due to hyperpigmentation. At the same
time, since it is an area with low lymph circulation, under-eye puffiness can easily develop
with wrong product choices and excessive amount of applications.
A single product
from a single brand has been specially produced for this area. Technologically, the product
contains hyaluronic acid, which does not hold much water, and 14 different ingredients. The
purpose of these substances is cell rejuvenation , moisturizing the area and reducing free
radicals. When the under-eye groove is filled, the dark appearance will automatically
decrease as the pitting will be gone.
The maximum amount of filler that can be
applied under the eye in a single session is certain. If too much filler is applied in a
single session, complications may occur. Therefore, it will be correct to apply it in
sessions and little by little. A total of 3 sessions, usually once a month, is sufficient.
Since this area is a special area, the product has a long permanence
time.
What is Done Before the Procedure?
The areas to be
filled are determined. Detailed medical history, patient examination, expectations of the
person, information about the procedure, pre-procedure photography are
performed.
How Does the Process Work?
Since the filler to be
used is fluid, it can be applied with very thin needles or with a cannula and does not cause
pain and does not require anesthesia. It is applied by microinjection method to the required
areas according to the needs of the person. There are local anesthetic substances in the
fillers used, which prevent the occurrence of pain during and after the application. The
procedure takes about 10-20 minutes.
What should be Considered After the
Procedure?
The face can be washed an hour after the procedure. After the
filler application, redness, swelling and/or bruising may be observed in the application
area. Swelling and bruising in the area around the eyes are slightly more common. The person
can easily go to work the next day.
